Personalized treatment planning – Treatment for psoriasis includes one or more of the following approaches, often used in combination:
  • Topical agents – These are applied to the skin to reduce inflammation, slow the rapid growth of skin cells and improve other symptoms of psoriasis.
  • Phototherapy – This simple treatment gives some people longterm remission, with results that can last from six to twelve months. Petrin Dermatology is one of the few medical practices in our area with a special light box for psoriasis phototherapy.
  • Systemic medications & biologics – There are several medications approved for the treatment of psoriasis and the joint damage which can occur with some forms of the condition. Each medication has specific risks and benefits which Dr. Petrin will discuss with you.
Together, you and Dr. Petrin will consider the severity of your symptoms, the risks of treatment and your personal preferences to develop a treatment plan that is safest and most effective for you.
